Entries are available to all artists who live or work within the Midlands region and to all Fine Art disciplines. The Midlands does not correspond to any current administrative area, and there is therefore no strict definition. However, it is generally considered to include the counties of Derbyshire, Herefordshire, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire, Nottinghamshire, Rutland, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire, the West Midlands metropolitan boroughs and Worcestershire.and Lincolnshire. In the interests of making the exhibition the most interesting possible we are happy to include work from artists who are on the edge of these borders or who have a close link to the region – please feel free to contact us if you have any queries regarding this.
Our panel of judges consist of Gallery Owner Jim Tarpey and Gallery Director Luke Tarpey.
Each artist may submit up to Two pieces.
The fee is £10 for one piece, £15 for two pieces.
All work must be delivered to the gallery from 8th – 13th August 2017 from 10am to 5pm – during this week we will be open from Tuesday – Sunday. The work must be clearly labelled with Name, Title, Medium, dimensions and Price (including Gallery Commission), protected and ready to hang (String, mirror plates or alternative). For Sculptural work, please make sure it’s well protected and installable by two people with clear instructions on any assembly needed. Any large pieces can be submitted via email with images of the work and attached application form by the deadline – please insure you are able to deliver and install the work by the 24th August.
We like to be able to see the work ‘in the flesh’ to gain a full appraisal of the work including application of your chosen medium and quality of presentation. We have added over 12 artists from the open over the last 5 years to our stable and found that photographs rarely do justice to a finished piece. Since we are a commercial gallery and pride ourselves on delivering high quality work to our clients this standard is of paramount importance.
Selected work will remain on display until the end of the exhibition. All entries if unsold must be collected within 1 week of the exhibition closing.
Work sold will be subject to 50% commission. This is in keeping with our represented artists.
We will insure your work against loss or damage while it is on site. Work in transit to and from the gallery must be insured separately by the artist.
