Luke Tarpey

About The Artist

Luke Tarpey is a visual artist based in Castle Donington, UK, where he currently manages Tarpey Gallery. He graduated from Sheffield Hallam University in 2002 with a honours degree in Fine Art. Although he has made work most of his life, he has spent the last twelve years focusing on representing artists at Tarpey Gallery. He is now in the early stages of launching his own art career, with a focus on Hand Cut Collage.

Artist Statement

The work is ultimately about imagination; creating a world to escape into, letting go of preconceived ideas and living in fantastical places where anything is possible. Constructing narratives and structures that celebrate our individuality and sense of place. The work can be both serious and playful but will always be a celebration of the transportive power of art as therapy.
